Arnold Churches Together (ACT)

What-If-LogoBeyond Arnold Methodist Church, we are linked to Arnold Churches Together with more opportunities to serve those who are vulnerable in our community.

We are part of ACT name for a group of Christian churches situated in the town of Arnold. The group consists presently of twelve Churches of differing denominations, who come together to work, pray and worship, and help support the poor and vulnerable in the community of Arnold, having fun whilst sharing together.

Easter and Christmas events are often outside, expressing God’s love at the heart of the community in the marketplace of Arnold.

We have a good working relationship with Gedling Borough and we lead a service of worship at the Arnold Carnival.

ACT also leads Church on the Streets (COTS), Debt problem advice, Food bank, Call to Prayer, Blokes events, Visiting the lonely, and, remembering Mission Arnold.

Events run by ACT are for everyone. Come and join us.Arnold-Churches-Together-Banner

Arnold Carnival

Arnold carnival has taken place in June on Arnot Hill Park every year since the year 2000 usually on Fathers’ day weekend. Over the course of the weekend many activities take place and Arnold Churches Together take the opportunity to bring the church to the people at Carnival.

On Sunday morning we have morning worship on the main stage, and in the afternoon, musicians from various churches present the gospel in song & testimony.

During the course of the weekend Arnold Churches have a marquee where various activities take place aimed at children & young people. Also we have a team who go around the carnival site treasure hunting (this is a kind of prayer walking). God’s love is for everyone. Do come and join us.

Arnold Foodbank

Arnold FoodbankArnold Methodist Church supports our local Foodbank by collecting food for needy people and providing volunteers for this community project.

Frontline professionals identify people in need, who are then given a voucher to take to the Arnold Foodbank, where it is exchanged for 3 days’ supply of emergency food. Arnold Foodbank is situated at Daybrook Baptist Church and is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 1:30pm – 3:00pm.

Why do we do this? The words of Jesus in the Bible, give us the answer. Matthew 25, 35: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 40: The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

Church on the Streets

amc-in-the-marketAs a group from several churches in and around the Arnold area, we meet every Saturday morning in the Market Place in Arnold to share LOVE and HOPE.

We offer to pray with people after listening to anyone who would like to speak with us on our streets. We believe that the GOOD NEWS of JESUS is for everyone.

God wants to demonstrate His Glory through signs and wonders. You are very welcome to join us, come down and ask for prayer. Every prayer and need matters to Jesus. To get involved or attend a training event get in touch through our website.

We have seen God break through into lives and situations, seen people restored by His love and healed by His Power. We have made some positive connections with local businesses and we just love to bless people in the community. It is a privilege and an honour to be part of God’s Kingdom in Arnold.

If this is the kind of community you want to belong to, why not join us at Arnold Methodist Church?
